Monday June 26

It has been a good weekend for me filled with many useful activities.

Let's  go with order.

Last Friday June 23 I  had a healthy dinner  and then went to the gym

For dinner a Quinoa salad and a couple of boiled eggs with Organic Mayo

I signed out at 5:15pm and then went to the gym

I walked to the gym and arrived well on time for my Zumba class.

Caroline was there as well, she is not participating any longer in this picture taking process.

It is  fine by me.

Salve in orange is gladly taking part.

Salve is such an understanding person with me.

I enjoyed my time over there.

I left at 7pm and started walking back to the apartment.

As I started  walking back to the apartment in the heat a person that was at the gym with me stopped by.

Her name is Trish.

She obviously knew me as she called me with my first name.

She offered me a lift back to the apartment in her car.

So I gladly returned with her...
I teased her she should take me to drink a beer because shewas the one doing the driving.

I signed back in at the apartment and started my evening routine.

Last Saturday June 24 I woke up early as I was very busy.

On weekend I am spending my time in washing carefully all my clothes.
This time the washer and drier were in different buildings.
I ended up transferring the washed clothes in the 500 building at the 400 building had no available drier.

Anyway It  all washed and dried.
I then walked to Trader Joe's by myself after signing out.

I arrived there early to shop.

I followed my list, spent  $109.16

As I walked over there I  was able to make a small flower composition that  I brought to Jamie.

She appreciated a lot.
Over there I also purchased a couple of strong fabric  bags.

They are made out of a strong plastic.

I will keep using them because they are performing better than the brown bags I was reusing.

Indeed the last time they ripped apart  in the bus/

This time I came back with CNS without any fall to report.

Three bags for my shopping

Jamie had the time to pose for a picture with me.

She made me bunny hears this time.

She is such a kind person with me and makes my shopping experience always fun.

I spent $106. 16.

This total  is very much in line with my average for the last several times.

I  am fine this way, I buy all good food, and I take care of eating healthy.
To tell it all it is well above the CNS's allowance which is $75 for food.

Later that day  I made Trofie pasta al pesto.

Pesto from Trader Joe's. Olive Oil, Basil leaves and Parmesan cheese.

A spoon of the water was added  for  the sauce to moist.

I carefully controlled the salt because the Pesto already  has some salt in it.

Later that afternoon I went to watch a nice movie.

Most of the other patients went to see Transformers.
I am honestly not interested on this kind of movie.

I watched the movie called Beatrix at dinner.

The story is centered about the figure of Beatriz played by Salma Hayek.

My way of understanding this movie is that it is a satire.

It focuses on the elitist society of the better off part of the white America.

The movie shows  the disconnection  of the white rich America to the rest of the working poor class.

To me it appears to be a satire of the well off American. Perhaps it was even a bit of a critique to the ones supporting  Mr Trump.

My family is well . They are all busy for the summer.

The kids had the summer off and Simona had a conference and a meeting in Italy to attend.

So she took the kids with her and the family is currently oversea.

Last Sunday June 25  I had my Organic breakfast

Finally I went to church in the morning.

"Who he sees me - says Jesus- sees the Father. Jesus says they will recognize you as my follower the way you love one another.

At church I gave $9.75 offering because at the movie I did not buy any drink.

While leaving the church I greeted Rose. She is Ron's mother. She was telling me about her son health status. He underwent surgery to remove a tumor at the intestine. He has been struggling to regain is health.

Rose  was telling me that he is still very weak but holding there.
Her daughter Cassie has been alternating with another daughter.

In the middle of the conversation another person jumped in.
It was very inappropriate for her.  She was a patient at CNS. All she had to say is that  she was at CNS with me. Thank you a lot for the information Angie but also for your lack of  tact and good manner.

You had to cut off the conversation with Rose about her son Ron.

It is not your fault that you are the way you are today.

Afterward I came back to the apartment had some lunch and off to  the gym

Last Sunday I also took my weight. It is 180,2lb

Good and stable, I am set at 180 lb.

Anyway after church it was my gym time.

I had a quick lunch. At 1:45 pm I as ready to go.

En route to the gym I stopped at Albertson to get some dental floss.
Then afterward I proceeded to the gym.

I arrived there at 2:15 pm.

I had time to follow my own personal program.

Here is a list from my memory book.
Each set is composed by 20 repetition repeated 3 times.
1) leg curl @5 87lb
2) Leg extension @ 61lb
3) Leg press @ 120 lb
4) chest press @58lb
5) shoulder press  @55lb
6) compound row @ 50lb
7) seated row @40lb
8) vert chest @50lb
9) crunch @ 40lb
10) rotary torso @40lb (pull chest against the pad do not use leg)

At the gym I met Suzy and Leon. They told me that they had attended a great birthday.
it was the 100th birthday of Leon's aunt.

I left at 4pm and walked back., I checked back in at 4:30pm

I greeted Ashley and Kayla at the reception.

Once back at the apartment I took  my shower and went back cooking.

Because this is very hot summer I made a summer salad.

Beside at the Homes of Hope I do not  have any place to eat comfortably.

I need to be fast and efficient in my eating. Like some American people are used to do.
Some of them are used to eat without being aware of the food it is being eaten.

They do not take pleasure in eating nor in chewing their food.

Here at HH  there are many kids with different manners and level of understanding.

Today the bathroom was barely fine. It looked like a third class train bathroom.
Pee was on the floor.  Who would do it anyway?

I found it soiled many time before. It means I am riding on a lower deck of the boat...

I have already been told there are many kids around for summer so it is not HH fault but of those kids that misuse the bathroom. Yet I encourage you to walk on somebody's else pee on the floor.

A fulfilling experience worth a lot.

So here is my cooking
Insalata di riso.
Brown Basmati rice, It takes 40 minute to cook it.
It is worth it. It has a low glycemic index. It means that the sugar in the blood does not spike a lot after eating it. It is good overall.

It has a lot of good nutrients, fibers and vitamins.

I used a variety of row vegetable.

this is the Brown Jasmine Rice package from Trader Joe's.

I cut all the veggies in small cubes. I mixed it with the cooked rice.
I open a can of tuna  and mixed it with the Organic mayo I had.

In this way a great and healthy  Insalta di Riso is done.

I am set for a few days. I refrigerated it. In the fridge it will last for a couple of days.

The last time I was at home it was last month for a dinner celebration. Simona's mom Anna had made a great rice salad. So I got inspired by her cooking skills.

Whenever my son Chicco hears  that I am making a rice salad, he kids with me because I am making it again. It is a light and healthy food for the summer.
It is blazing hot in Bakersfield so this is working very well.

I eat it cold without spending any time in warming it up.

Well, it is a healthy food to make. I like it and it gives me time to do anything else.

And in fact for lunch today I had a grapefruit and some insalata di riso

This morning the air is already hot

I went at the park for a walk no newspaper as every Monday there are very very limited number of  newspapers
I mean who is buying nowadays the newspaper anyway.
this is a business that is going down the drain

Park today

The family is well. I missed my time window to talk with my family.
It will be for another day.

These roses have been carefully selected among the bushes of the roses.

A lot of them have dying flowers.

This morning I made some overnight oats.

I have been following this preparation procedure that had been written in my memory book under June 6th.

It came out well, so I am making a new batch on a regular basis.

The oat are not cooked they are soaked overnight in liquid to soften.

I am simply a fun of it.

Memories.

Memories of the boys in Verona, Italy from last year.

Friday June 23 the ostrich

Finally I had a good night of sleep,
No supervisors interrupted my shower nor my sleep.
No Barios no Morales whatsoever around.

I made Overnight Oat yesterday

Here is the recipe I am following, courtesy of the net.

A cup of raw Oat, a tad of salt, a tad of sugar, a cup of  yogurt, a tbs of chia seeds,
For liquid I am using  a half cut of  regular milk, a quarter of a cup of coffee.

The recipe states to use coconut milk. I am not convinced about it.

It also states to let it chill in the fridge overnight . The Oat will absorb the liquid and  soften by itself.

The chia seeds will expand by virtue of being soaked in the liquid.

This is a very healthy meal for my breakfast.

I eat it cold as right  now the temperature is really hot.

I am having a great time taking care of myself.

I had a great healthy Organic breakfast.
I use Blueberry, High Fiber  Cereal (9g), Omega trek mix cereal, cold  Organic Milk

It is all healthy and great for  me.

It keeps me full for a while.

Yesterday evening I kept myself busy. With in house activities. I did not go to the gym.

As mentioned to you they woke me up two night ago  so I could  not sleep well.

I wrote a letter to the boys and send it back home to La Canada.

I cooked myself a very healthy dinner.

I washed the Quinoa carefully with a fine mesh colander under running water.
This removes the bitter coating from the Quinoa

I boiled the quinoa with water and added a bouillon cube to it.
I decided it was time for cooking  the Salmon so I proceeded  with  it.

All it takes is  very hot large pan and a few minutes per side.
It is a quick fish to cook.

Here is the Quinoa and the cooked Salmon.

I added some fancy dressing such as Olive Oil, balsamic vinegar.

A healthy dinner is served.

See what it looks like when you take care of yourself?

Of course after all this cooking activity the sink is full of pot to clean.

No problem there is a solution for everything.

Scrubbing all the port  with patience. Afterward I set the dishwasher to go.
I found that it works best when you first clean the dishes and pot in water. Then later do the rest with the dishwasher.

While the dishes were going I took care of cleaning the kitchen.

I took care of cleaning the kitchen floor with a broom.

I washed the tile floor of the whole apartment with a swifter.

I it all clean for another day.

I like to keep it clean. I feel I  am compelled to keep it clean. As it goes here in Bakersfield , there is a lot of dust in the air.

Of course this morning we all  had "Therapy" at the local shack. In the local lingo it is called  the Swain Center . A great therapeutic place to enjoy the warm feeling of the day.

The Shack is a large building with nothing inside, a few large tables a few chairs. When patients move the chairs around they produce a screeching sound because they do not have any protective pad at the end of their legs.  Easy to fix it.  BTW  in the shack  no restroom nothing of nothing.

And you call it a therapeutic environment?  Give me a break please.

Based on my personal assessment it is a sad examples of one of the main failure of CNS.

They believe they are the best in their field. Let's pretend to agree with this mantra

Anyway everybody at CNS knows this undeniable fact.  They are not able to do anything for those who stay. They stay there because they can not do anything else.

They are fully conscious of these limitations.

That is perhaps why I get in and get out after reading the newspaper... mostly what it does interest to me. A lot of time it does not report much going on, despite the fact that the world is a busy place with a lot of facts happening. I am not interested in the local news as much as you are .

I believe there is a whole world outside Bakersfield. It is a place for people to have a life and for people to confront each others against their own goals. So what are you really interested about in life?

To stay a local person, not aware of what happens over there ?

Many people are happy this way,  because being taking care of your own turf might feel  more secure.

A lot of American people feel this way. They have shown it in the latest election cycle.
They turn on their brains only once every few years. And this is already a huge effort for the place.

The truth of the matter is that in today's world globalization is a powerful force.

You buy many international made products, you dress with clothes made in China.

You  also breath the pollution made in China for once.

Only the ones that believe they can behave like ostrich will

The the analogy of the ostrich. is fully complete.

History and the world in fact has shown that there is nothing more false that pretending to be an ostrich. Repeatedly has shown that you have to dare to look upfront for the future and you have to embrace changes.

BTW they should put this picture at the Swain Center or at least to show it to all the sup - Morales included.

Here is just an example for them to browse during their free time. It is a set of opening on a local store.

BTW my own lunch Quinoa Salad again

Thursday June 22

I received a new bathrobe yesterday.

It has a cap to dry my hair.

Yesterday evening I was taken to Eyemart Express on Ming Avenue to fix my eye glasses.

I just needed new nose pads for the frame as the one of the old one came off.

They did it quickly and without charging me a dime.

Hilda was there at the store. I remember her from the last time I was there.

I came back to the apartment distributed the schedule to everybody booked for the movie this Saturday.

I had a great burrata salad. The last for this week because I run out of burrata.

Obviously I am going to buy it again soon.

I drizzled the  burrata with Balsamic glaze and Olive Oil.

A great Summer salad did pair well with it.

I had still time left so I signed out and walked to the gym.

On my route I stopped by  the Upper Cut family hair salon on White Lane.

This is the cart of the place.

Simona mentioned I was there just at the beginning of the month three weeks ago.

She is right, it is written on my memory book I was there on June 2nd.

Well it is boiling hot in Bakersfield. I wanted to have a hair cut.
She I had one.

This is a simple no frill  place where I started going on a regular basis to get my hair cut.

The shop  is located on While Lane street on a little plaza en route to the gym.

I can go there whenever I want to go, I do not have to rely on  CNS transportation nor to mingle with the others. I like it this way. I is my independence that shows in this case.

I paid $15 and left $2 as a tip.

I talked to Maria she is a lady that works there. I waited for her to be available.
She has always been nice to me so I am going because she is a very nice person.

She mentioned she speaks Spanish as first language. So I proceeded talking to her in Spanish.
We had a pleasant conversation.

I then  proceeded   going to the gym. I  greeted Cassie who led the  cycle class before. She mentioned that her dad returned home from the hospital. He is at home resting. She appeared to be more relieved.

I mean we all have to go trough tough time in our life. I am a specialist about this matter.

I could write a book about it. I guess "My PTSD story at CNS" could be a great title for it.

I was able to participate to  body pump with Sylvia. I stayed light and  focused on repetitions and range of motion.

At 7pm I am my Rehabilitation program is such that I am  supposed to be leaving the gym.
I walked back to the apartment and signed in at  7:25pm

Now my evening  Odyssey began.

While I was taking a shower Jose the sup got inside  the apartment.

I mean please CNS privacy    !!!

This is the first violation of my own  privacy.

I had dinner and took my sleeping meds.

I was already in bed. I had taken all my sleeping med: melatonine, trazone and also the Ambient was done... imagine it.   This is the cocktail that CNS is giving me to sleep.

Briefly I was falling asleep, then it was the turn of Daisy Barrios another sup.

She entered inside my bedroom for the love of GOD!
A female person that gets into my own room have you ever seen it such a violation of Privacy?
Baranowski, De Luna and all CNS?

I mean c'mon guys  and Jolanta Baranoski.

You have done enough for a single day?

here is the copy and paste of the email that went out

Giuseppe Rossi bepperossi2013@gmail.com

8:17 PM (15 hours ago)
to SimonaMartaJBaranowskiAnnaAnnaakilbyBFLResidential.
Privacy guys! Whenever I am
Taking a shower you are expected to stay out - not because Sokolosky claims she heard something that you act ....
Let's understand and agree on respect
Don't bug me ever again
I would appreciate it
I hope it is well understood

Get your own employee in line please ...  you are paid after all for doing something.

Nothing is better than bugging me again..

Rules at CNS do not apply obviously.

I am deeply annoyed at every body at CNS.
I hope it shows up. I called my IPC - great responsible person to complain about all this matter.

I am feeling  like a baby complaining  after his mom because at the day care he has been treated  unfairly by a teacher.

C'mon CNS Jolanta Baranowski and Sups you are really paid for this mess ?

It means to me that you are really pumping money out of the Insurance  if this is what you are really paid for...

And for what?  Because the adjacent patient Mona S. wanted attention and called you all on me?

You know that this senior lady is out of her mind most of the time, if not all of the time?

Dear CNS I am using her name on  purpose to state that

Dr Giuseppe Rossi formally ask you to keep Mona S. away. The senior lady is a nasty behavioral person.

I am continuing  to be deeply annoyed with all the CNS personnel for this matter.
I  am sure nothing is going to happen to your personnel as it has been the case for the past  matter.
They all keep their job as if nothing had indeed happened.

This is just annoying to me. You keep going on if it were alright- after all this is your sad job.
A job that is supposed to be of service rather than of bugging people.

Also when do you understand that Mona's claims are the ones that are based on fallacious facts.

She is a crazy and - most of the time - nasty person.

She is obsessed with me and you feed her obsession hence you are equally at fault.

Her fault is being just nasty, your fault CNS is being incompetent.

You all pick the worst.

Please CNS you do understand you are walking a fine line ....I am very anxious to pay you all back with the same currency disrespect.

I do care for my own kids, They are at home relaxing after going to tennis camp in La Canada.

For lunch they had Carbonara pasta that was done earlier by Simona my wife.

This is a very good and healthy pasta.

It is made with cooked pancetta, onions, Parmesan and  raw fresh eggs.

The eggs get cooked by the heat of the pasta..

It only requires a bit of pepper to adjust the flavor.

There is so much dust in Bakersfield.

I keep cleaning the apartment and the dust keeps just building up

This morning I used the spray to clean my surfaces in the apartment.

My bedroom, all the picture frames, the furniture in the kitchen

Pledge spray was the product I  had used to remove all the dust.

The air of Bakersfield is really filthy  and its quality is really poor.

I keep cleaning inside the apartment and the dust keeps building up.

So this morning I made time to use Pledge around my apartment,

I hope it will be staying cleaned for one of two days.

We will see.

This is all for today. Frankly I am offended by CNS.

BTW it is a hot day but did my lap at the park.

Also it is my pay day as every Thursday.
I get from the Insurance $75 for Grocery and $24 for outing.

Frankly my wife do take care of the rest for me.

I am not expecting CNS to meddling with my life.
I expect CNS to stay out of it.

Imagine how would be a day without the CNS around.

It would be a really great day,
